Our Junior Firefighter program allows teenagers from the ages of 14-17 to join our team and see if firefighting is something they want to make a career of. On top of that, the Junior Fire Academy that we host every year is recognized by the Missouri State Fire Marshals Office, and awards a Basic Firefighter certification upon completion.
Our Junior Firefighter program is led by Lead Advisor, Captain Ray Eloe, and team advisors, Trevor Woods, and Matt Sindeff.
We are always looking to bring on new Junior Firefighters, Below is an application that you will be able to print out and send in. You can also get an application by stopping by our Fire House 1 at 6 South Church Street and ask the Office Administrator for a Junior Application.
Each year the Sullivan Fire Department hosts the Sullivan Junior Fire Academy. The Junior Fire Academy is a week-long, in-residence training academy in June that provides classroom and hands-on training. Juniors from all over the state spend the week with us and learn how to safely and efficiently get the job done on the fire ground. Our Jr Academy is recognized by the Missouri State Fire Marshal's office. In addition to the State certificate, the Juniors that successfully complete our Academy also receive their Basic Firefighter Certification. It is a long week of hard work and fun.
The Sullivan Fire Protection District Junior Firefighters currently are:
